Cooperative systems for road safety

The European Integrated Project SAFESPOT is developing a cooperative system aiming at improving road safety. Its aim is to warn the driver by developing a driver assistance, called the "safety margin assistant", which detects in advance the dangerous situations in an extended horizon obtained using vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure telecommunications. The LCPC takes part to the two subprojects aiming at developing innovative sensors and applications mainly based on the infrastructure. He will also play a major role in the evaluation of the systems. Indeed, the test tracks of Versailles Satory will be the test bed of the different developments carried out in the western part of Europe.
